dime defect?

I found this dime with a strange raised point on it. New to this forum, I'm not a coin guy at all. Just curious if anyone knows what's up with this coin.

coins are often made into jewelry, buttons, tie tacs, cuff links, lapel pins,.....so on

what you see here is the soldered on base of a post, with the 'post' cut off.
