1. Post a front and back image of your coin with a specific question about what you’re seeing or asking about and one coin per topic.
2. Please remove coin from the holder unless it’s US or an official mint case or unless it is graded by a grading service.
3. Images should be taken by a camera or cell phone camera, we ask that members don’t use images through a microscope screen.
4. Always start your own topic, please don’t ask about your coin or post your coin in someone else’s coin topic.
5. Do not send private messages about your coin unless an Admin ask you too and the same for sending emails through the board.
6. No spam. Do not post any links to your coin or other non-coin websites.
7. Always be respectful even if something makes you upset or you don’t agree with a member. You can always get a second opinion elsewhere. If you have an issue then politely ask an admin in an PM. PM’s are for issues, technical and personal, but not for coin questions (refer to number 5 on this list). Hard to tell from the photos but it could have been scratched into the coin. I don't see it being a dropped letter since there's no 7 on this coin or the dies that struck it.

reflect?....the flip? :dunno
collectors must keep a few thing in mind when posting coin pics:
:eureka:
1. remove them from their 'flips', & image them 'naked'
2. always provide the 'obverse & reverse', no matter what
3. 'spin' the coin around (because every lighting setup is different), 12, 3, 6, 9 o'clock when you picture it. don't worry about the coin being sideways or up-side down....most of the time, what you are seeing will disappear/re-appear (reflect)

Re: 1966 sms with extra number
Your "7" is interesting to me. Here is a 1966 SMS Roosevelt dime with what looks to be a number "5" dropped on the cheek. I did the research and in 1966 due to the high volume of 1964 Kennedy half's ordered and the mint changing the packaging of proof sets, the 1966 SMS set was being put together along with 1965 SMS sets up into September of 1966. This would/could explain the 5 on the cheek of my coin. However the 7 on your Roosevelt I think it would have had to have been being packaged up into 1967. As you can see in my picture there is an overlay of the number 5 from a 1965 SMS dime taken at the exact same distance, magnification etc. and placed over the mark on my coin, I would suggest maybe you get a 1967 SMS dime and do the same to see if it fits.
Good luck!
Good luck!
