1. Post a front and back image of your coin with a specific question about what you’re seeing or asking about and one coin per topic.
2. Please remove coin from the holder unless it’s US or an official mint case or unless it is graded by a grading service.
3. Images should be taken by a camera or cell phone camera, we ask that members don’t use images through a microscope screen.
4. Always start your own topic, please don’t ask about your coin or post your coin in someone else’s coin topic.
5. Do not send private messages about your coin unless an Admin ask you too and the same for sending emails through the board.
6. No spam. Do not post any links to your coin or other non-coin websites.
7. Always be respectful even if something makes you upset or you don’t agree with a member. You can always get a second opinion elsewhere. If you have an issue then politely ask an admin in an PM. PM’s are for issues, technical and personal, but not for coin questions (refer to number 5 on this list). Re: justify coin
Hello and welcome!
Any chance you could post another image with a known coin (US dime or cent) next to it, for size reference.
And I couldn't enlarge the image to clearly see the writing.
It looks hugeeyes like it says 30 grains. No date, nation or motto's so my guess would be a token or bullion "square". Have you tested it for metal type?

Most jewelers or even a pawn shop would probably have a kit but it might cost you something.abdullah khalid wrote:how can I do the metal test type ?

Re: justify coin
:welcome:
"3fs" is associated with Apothecary Weights and 1/2 Drachm
"30 grains" is equal to 1/16th of modern Troy Ounce.
The weight chart below shows the more modern Troy scales where there are 12 Troy ounces in a Troy pound. These weights use letters to denote their weight.
3ij = 2 Drachm
3i = 1 Drachm
3fs = 1/2 Drachm
The 3 is actually the symbol for the Drachm.
The fs is an abbreviation for the latin word "semis" or "half". Latin was used because it was universally understood by pharmicists and doctors.
The letters are usually in script.
These are usually made of brass. Sometimes out of aluminum.
So, this is an Apothecary Weight equal to 1/16 of an Apothecary Ounce or 1/2 Drachm. These were the weights that pharmacists used to measure doses of medicine (powders) up until the 1960s. System was abolished in US in 1971.

Re: justify coin
Good call,M!! The weights would occasionally get checked for accuracy. I had pharmacist relatives. N.J. weights and measures would come into a drug store and make sure they were accurate. I had kind of forgot that druggists and doc.s would use Latin. They still do for dosage. ( TID three times a day, QID four times a day, ETC)
