Misplaced Mint marks

#1 Unread post by coinlector »

Hi, I'm a collector, newly interested in error coins. I have acquired a 1901 Barber Quarter with a misplaced "S" mint mark that is clearly seen just to the east of the normal position. Any info. would be appreciated. Thanks

:welcome: ,
new scope??
it takes time/practice to learn how to id 'die defects', with a scope.....that will hugeeyes EXACTLY LIKE something else, similar to a MPM1 or "blundered" mm, like your seeing here.
if you look at the 'mpm', as you "spin" the coin under the scope....does it come & go?.....appear - disappear - reappear, as you spin it...definition wise.
