Introduce myself

#1 Unread post by buddah40 » Sat Jan 19, 2019 11:54 pm

Glad to be a part of this community. My name is James. I've been collecting/selling coins for about seven years now. I like type coins, but my real area of interest are error coins from minor to major. Recently I have sent a few pics to Mike Byers of some Lincoln pennies I have held for years that I suspect are struck on gold planchets. They weigh a lot more than a Penny should weigh, and the features of the coin it is struck on is tell-tale. You can see on this specimen the words, .9999 fine gold. I'm now purchasing a microscope so I can go a little deeper because I cannot make out the date, country of origin or denomination. All I can see ia faint pictures of eagles all over it. If anyone is interested in seeing these coins let me know I'll send pics! And again thanks for having me.
