Do you have some image examples? Most people who think they're seeing doubled ears are looking at machine doubling or something else. A true doubled die should match known die markers and be looked at by an expert or posted on this forum so we can help identify.

Good question and welcome to the forum!

Here are copies I took some pics of. Not the best but I try. As Daniel said you will need to match up die markers for a proper attribution. Hope this helps.

:greatfind: I've been looking for one of these but they seem quite rare. Am I correct ? I think your Pics are pretty good compared to others I've seen . Are these worth much ? Also, how is this created ??

It's a doubled die and other areas of the coin can be doubled as well and those are usually the most rare. I think the 84' and 83' are a couple of the most valuable.

the '83 ddr is quite valuable. careful here, there are 2 different ddr's on the '83. the FS-801 is the one you want. the legends are very strongly doubled south, with a HUGE spread.

You're correct Paul and why I added there's more than just the ear doubled. Should have used the FS numbers though.
