FOUND THIS COIN TONIGHT OUT OF A BANK ROLL...LINCOLN CENT...1987D...MISSING 100% OF THE COPPER PLATING...WEIGHS 2.49 GRAMS..

In my small opinion I am thinking that the plating has been removed from this one. Wouldn't hurt to send it to someone for an in hand check though. My reasoning for this is the photo of the obverse appears to have a grainy effect that may have been due to the previous plating of the coin.

checked with an expert on these and this coin has been stripped...another science experiment and also the 1982d is stripped...aw shucks !!!!

Yeah bummer, those school teachers with nitric acid sure can ruin a lot of dreams sometimes. lol: If the coin was truly unplated the devices and images would be very crisp looking and the surface would be quite smooth. I understand they happen but not very often. Are the pics black and white?
