Several 1985 D RPM's maybe.
I found these two 1985 D's and cannot match anything in the books or on line for an RPM. Are these indeed RPM's? The first one is just a vertical bar while the latter has several vertical bars and the inner marks almost looks like a D or the top and side of one. I thought these were interesting enough to ask if you guys think it these are RPM's or a pigment of my imagination. :l Thanks

The first coin has some MD and is possibly an RPM as well, the second coin is an RPM, and is the most interesting. I see doubled bars from a faint D mint mark and even some of the curve. It could be a doubled RPM so could be D-D-D? I will let others chime in and see what they think. You got a :winnah:

Very cool and thanks for the info Daniel. I haven't been able to find the variety of either one, though the first one does sort of match one on CC but the markers aren't there.. The second one is pretty neat. It is by far the best rpm I have ever found.Daniel wrote:The first coin has some MD and is possibly an RPM as well, the second coin is an RPM, and is the most interesting. Nolife, what kind of baits do you make? I use to pour soft plastic, 10's of thousands of the buggers. Still have all the stuff but just don't fish much anymore. :-(

Re: Several 1985 D RPM's maybe.
Pahwa my brother and me make crank baits and other wooden baits like poppers. We cut them out of blocks of woods and then shape them how we want. Then we custom paint them and add all the hooks. We should be getting a big gripe done soon so I will have to put some pics up in the $3 bill thread. Nice RPM finds by the way. I think the second one may be up on coppercoins. I couldn't narrow in down to just one.

Yeah crank baits, very cool. Lets see some pics for sure.
On the rpm's i couldn't match them up either with the markers. I'll have to go back and look better. lol

Pahwa, you can always send them to coppercoins for attribution. They have totally revised their services and it should make it easier to sell varieties with the CC holder. The 85 RPM's are pretty scarce too.

That's cool Pahwa, let us know the results as the zinc 80's are very tricky when it comes to RPM's...I'd like to see what an in hand examination yields.

Re: Several 1985 D RPM's maybe.
Bob got the coins this morning and has already sent me back the results. I sent in a total of 5 cons but only 4 for attribution. I sent one duplicate for comparison. The first 1985n Bob said it was a strike and some MD. I don't think it is an RPM though ti looks very similar to one. That is one thing about having the coin in hand. The second 1985, the one with the double bar is a new rpm and has been listed on CC 1985D-1MM-019. I had sent a 1989 D that was a possible 1DO-001 and he did confirm that as a DDO 1989D-1DO-001. The other two I send in was a 2011 P DO but I couldn't find it listed. That ended up being a new listing as well 2011P-1DO-011. Man I couldn't believe it. It was a great morning when I read his email and yeah there was a little excitement there too. widegrin
