I'll say it's rare, about the last year you can find an RPM for a cent. Great discovery and images! Thanks for posting :yourock:
Re: 1989-D D/D RPM Lincoln
I am thinking this coin may be a DDO also because the 8 is fat as Oprah's arse and the second 9 looks to have a tiny split in the tail.
A DDO/RPM combo......I am trying to think if there are any DDO/RPM Lincoln cents for any year?

Re: 1989-D D/D RPM Lincoln
I once owned an 1989-D that had a hole and a hollow area beside and under the mint mark. It look like a planchet flaw to me, and I assumed it was a gas pocket in the planchet that burst during the strike. I think that's what's going on with your coin, but I don't have any recource on this.tmeetre wrote:Greetings! It appears to be a gas bubble, not an RPM.tmeetre wrote:Greetings! I was trying to learn the value of the 1989 RPM penny - I believe I have one in my possession - do you know the value?

Hello I have a 1989 penny just like the one shown on this form but the only difference is mine has no mint mark and I'm curious to see what is your opinions on it. If you would like more photos I will be happy to post more. Looking for your opinion in this cause I want to say I'm new in coin collecting but I'm not I've always been in to coins but now I'm actually now learning about how to coin collect and values of them.

A no mint mark cent is normal, the only year the Philadelphia Mint put mint marks on Lincoln Cents is 2017, so your coin is normal. It is the proofs in special proof sets, that are missing the S mint mark and the 1982 Roosevelt Dime. All others without a mint mark are normal.
