2. Please remove coin from the holder unless it’s US or an official mint case or unless it is graded by a grading service.
3. Images should be taken by a camera or cell phone camera, we ask that members don’t use images through a microscope screen.
4. Always start your own topic, please don’t ask about your coin or post your coin in someone else’s coin topic.
5. Do not send private messages about your coin unless an Admin ask you too and the same for sending emails through the board.
6. No spam. Do not post any links to your coin or other non-coin websites.
7. Always be respectful even if something makes you upset or you don’t agree with a member. You can always get a second opinion elsewhere. If you have an issue then politely ask an admin in an PM. 1972P-1DO-004 found
Just thought I'd share my latest find....this bag has yielded 4 DDO's and I'm only half way through, but this 72 is by far my best find ever.

Re: 1972P-1DO-004 found
I've only looked at it a dozen times this morning..what amazes me most is that it is far more valuable than the big DDO for 72....but I guess that's collecting.

I bought #1 too Steve...I think I'm missing number 5, but am not concerned with any past #8.

Sent it to PCGS today, then it will be auctioned off on Teletrade in the spring.

Update...the auction is in progress right now. This coin graded AU-58. High bidder at the moment is $2250. Auction ends at 10:00pm so we'll see where it ends up. And this is why this is the "Big One" in my book.

Re: 1972P-1DO-004 found
Final price was $2600...and the buyer also paid a 15% buyers fee so total was $2990. This is a record for the grade. WooHoo !!!

Thanks for the picture. The cherrypicker's guide doesn't give a very good one.
Great find. This goes to show that knowledge does pay off.
With my luck, I probably had one when I was a kid and dropped it in the yard while playing treasure hunter.

I like work; it fascinates me.
I can sit and look at it for hours.

Re: 1972P-1DO-004 found
I should add that a big reason for the high price was the grade..AU58. That is the maximum for PCGS Everyman Registry Set so AU coins have had a price jump in that respect. The guy that handled my coin says he saw an MS-63 go for around $1700. He caters to the Registry collectors so I'm glad to have found him.
