2. Please remove coin from the holder unless it’s US or an official mint case or unless it is graded by a grading service.
3. Images should be taken by a camera or cell phone camera, we ask that members don’t use images through a microscope screen.
4. Always start your own topic, please don’t ask about your coin or post your coin in someone else’s coin topic.
5. Do not send private messages about your coin unless an Admin ask you too and the same for sending emails through the board.
6. No spam. Do not post any links to your coin or other non-coin websites.
7. Always be respectful even if something makes you upset or you don’t agree with a member. You can always get a second opinion elsewhere. If you have an issue then politely ask an admin in an PM. 1956D 1MM-001 w/BIE error?
I almost didn't post this one, but it intrigued me. I don't understand a ton about die stages or how they can be determined. What I find interesting about this coin is that apart from the mint mark and some of the flow lines it doesn't match any identified die stages. It doesn't have the die scratches of the MDS or the LDS. So would it be an early die state? I can't find where any of them had this BIE error present. Just wondering where this one might fall since it has such an extreme BIE error. Here is the coppercoins link so you can see what I mean.

I don't think it's an EDS, so I heading in the other direction...maybe a VLDS as the chip that created the BIE usually happens after too much usage and cannot be polished away like scratches.

Feels like a homerun coin to me. I love BIE errors and you can't beat the doubling on this rpm. Plus I think this is my 3rd 1mm-001 that I've found for this year widegrin

I think of my finds are ment as a motivator for you guys. widegrin I don't think I'm doing anything special. You just have to keep looking. I tried posting metal detecting finds to get Daniel out metal detecting again. It didn't seem to work so I thought I'd focus on the rest of you :l
