1. Post a front and back image of your coin with a specific question about what you’re seeing or asking about and one coin per topic.
2. Please remove coin from the holder unless it’s US or an official mint case or unless it is graded by a grading service.
3. Images should be taken by a camera or cell phone camera, we ask that members don’t use images through a microscope screen.
4. Always start your own topic, please don’t ask about your coin or post your coin in someone else’s coin topic.
5. Do not send private messages about your coin unless an Admin ask you too and the same for sending emails through the board.
6. No spam. Do not post any links to your coin or other non-coin websites.
7. Always be respectful even if something makes you upset or you don’t agree with a member. You can always get a second opinion elsewhere. If you have an issue then politely ask an admin in an PM. 1992 Lincoln opinion wanted
I have taken some time to try to learn about different error types and I wanted to know what kind of doubling you think this is. Thanks.

Re: 1992 Lincoln opinion wanted
The doubling on the 9 and the 2 is rounded, so I was thinking it might be hub doubling, but I am not sure. I looked on the CONECA site, but can't find anything to compare it with.

Re: 1992 Lincoln opinion wanted
It appears to be plating "push" doubling although this is one of the most defined examples I've seen.Might be worthy of an in-hand examination by somebody like Bob Piazza just to be sure.

Re: 1992 Lincoln opinion wanted
that looks like alot more than a plating issue.....absolutely send that sucker in for examination/attribution.

Re: 1992 Lincoln opinion wanted
It appears part of the 2 is missing. So it could have been from a overly polished die along with "pushed" plating.
Re: 1992 Lincoln opinion wanted
It also looks like it might be grease filled. ie God We Tru....I think that I would send a photo off and see what they have to say. At any rate you have a great looking coin. :w

Thanks to everyone for responding to my post.
Here are a couple more pictures. Look forward to hearing what you think.
Also, I am very new to this...where would be the best place to send the coin for more examination?

Re: 1992 Lincoln opinion wanted
Let me just say that the second gripe of photos makes me think my first assessment was correct..there is quite a bit of die deterioration around the perimeter of the coin which seems to accompany the plating push I mentioned.

So...I got a good loupe and when I turned the coin at an angle I could definately see that it was caused by pushing. Bummer!

Don't give up. You'd be surprised how many pennies you have to go through to find something really good sometimes. The important thing is to have your eye out.
