83 d Lincoln penny what did I find
I picked this up at an antique shop a couple weeks ago. I'm not sure exactly what I have. Can anyone help me identify what this thing is or worth

My name's Daniel from Indiana I've been collecting coins for 11 years and this is the first that I've seen something like this wondering if it's on a copper planchet. If it was copper coated what color would be the zinc underneath

What do you have this in, half of a chocolate egg or something? Can you just lay it on a flat surface? It looks like an off center strike.

The zinc is showing through. Go to eBay and SOLD auctions to see what a similar one sells for. Its not as important, in this case, if its the same date as much as if the ones you compare it to look to be about the same degree off center.
