Ghost letter? Or buffed out
I won this in an eBay auction for 3 bucks so if it's buffed out its not a big deal but I was wondering if anyone can tell from the pics if it's a ghost letter? Or someone tampered with it. I know they aren't great pics, but these are the ones on eBay and I just bought this today and don't have it on hand.

Looks like a common " grease filled die " .
