1988 LMC No FG???

#1 Unread post by AverageStacker »

Going through a box of pennies and came across this while looking for the 89 reverse. I've never heard of an 88 NO FG. Can anyone shed some light on this?

Look up "grease filled die" at error-ref.com. This will help :)

I am quite familiar with grease filled dies. What causes me to think otherwise are the large die scratches from polishing and that the definition of everything else appears consistent especially around lincoln.

And that is all well and good. Just makes me wonder why some "NO FG" are worth big bucks and recognized varieties by the main grading companies and others are worth nothing.

You probably are correct then. I did not zoom in on the images, just saw the missing devices.
