an 1887 Morgan dollar in an ANACS holder. It is a VAM 11 (1887-P VAM-11 Doubled 18-7, 7 in Denticles). http://www.vamworld.com/wiki/1887-P_VAM-11
However, PCGS does not show it in their price guide (they only show VAM 1B and VAM 12). NGC does not list it as well. Does that mean that it is impossible to get Variety/Attribution through those two companies, for the VAM 11 that I have?

Most VAMS do not add value to a coin, but you can look at sold auctions to see what they have sold for.

The designations are a record of the various Morgans that exist.
Besides...think of it...each VAM is a way a husband can legitimize owning more than one of each Morgan date/MM to his wife when she asks why he is spending so much on coins!
