This is toning from where it was stored in a tissue or some cloth but not a strike through but rather a form of "textile" toning. It's common for coins to tone oddly.

I have to strongly disagree with you, no offense,of coarse, but this is not just toning, there are grooves in a cross pattern about 1,maybe 2mm square .the last two photos I posted is catching the grooves at both angles. The lines you see are raised with a groove between. The photos are less than desired. The spots are toning, but the lines are either cloth or tape cross patterns. I know I post a lot of stuff that turns out to be nothing, but this is the most awesome coin I've ever seen. I will find a way to get better photos, because I want yall to enjoy the full spectrum of this coin. Any other time I would take your advice without a second thought, but I can see the pattern inlaid in the coin without magnification. Just can't seem to get a proper photo with my crapy phone. I will get better photos.

I have never seen a "Struck Through" coin, that did not show a significant loss of device detail under the area of the foreign object in question

I have looked at several examples, but, like you said, there are a lot of distortion on the image. I cant explain why this coin still has a good image. Maybe,a very thin piece of some material. The cross pattern is small, like a screen of a window, but smaller, and it is incuse, maybe a little more than the thickness of a hair. Let's say that everything I'm explaining, checks out and it is struck through cloth. What would be your next move?not concerted about losing any cost associated with having this coin checked out. I'm that confident in what I see. Thanks for your time and feedback.
