1998 P Quarter Error

#1 Unread post by TeeWoo65 » Tue Mar 31, 2020 11:43 pm

Hi Community, this 1998 P quarter has a large die chip on the right vine and raised metal near the bottom of the pony tail. Is there a premium for this type of error?

Hi Paul, please tell me why you would not consider this coin to be worth more than face value so that I can know what to look for. Thank you for your feedback.

It's a minor anomaly maybe a delamination or a strike through. You want to look for doubled dies and more dramatic errors.

Thank you Daniel. I think I have something more dramatic in my stash. I will upload shortly.

:eureka:
Keep in mind, that you are using a "Microscope",...... and what you are looking at is very small.
… As this may be a itty bitty planchet flaw or die chip, there is relatively no market for them.

… What type of premium would you pay for this?
