Here is a nice example of (1970s-1mm-001 coppercoins.com) except for the carbon spot on his forehead :( other than that real nice coin.
Turned the coin, so you can see it's not reflection doubling or anything like that.
1970 - S RPM could this be a small date?

This is a large date and that is flat field strike doubling.

Re: 1970 - S RPM could this be a small date?
When you are checking coppercoins for the variety picture you think you have and found a possible match, remember there are marker pictures along with that variety to confirm your find. To open those up, just in case you may not know, at the bottom of the picture, description and the small value chart of the variety there are "marker photo's" EDS | MDS | LDS there maybe all three choices two or just one. But whichever are blue those are your option(s). Click on it and it will open the marker photos. It is always good, before asking here if you have an RPM, DDO or DDR at least on a penny, that you check the markers and see if you do. The markers have to match exactly. If you have all three choices check all three options as the dies deteriorate the markers may change or become stronger or weaker. The E, M, L as mentioned above with DS is talking about the age of the dies. E = Early die strike, M is like midlife - middle something like that I believe, L = Late DS. But if you spend a few minutes check for the markers on the coin, because you have it in hand and can better check it than others looking at sometime blurry pictures or ones that are just too far away to see the minute detail needed to identify some of these die varieties that you can determine that you have it. It is good practice to teach yourself what to look for when searching coin.
