What you are looking at seems to be the result of a worn-out obverse die, making Frank Gasparro's initials appear either faint or even nonexistent. Hope this helps and keep searching!

What you should do when taken photos of your coins to post to board. Take photos of both the Obverse and Reverse of the coin. If the photos look a mile away then no one will be able to see what's on the coin. Make the full photos as large as you can with out making them blurry also it would help to crop them. Next you want to take photos of area in question, again as big as you can with out them being blurry. There are programs you can use which are free, one is Inkscap and other is Gimp. Inkscap is the easer of the two for someone who doesn't have a lot of experience with photo editing tools. Some thing I left out is that on your close ups try and find a way to point to the area in question. You will find that Paul or Daniel will be able to give you answers quicker and a lot more accurate.
