1914 One Cent DDO ?

Could this possibly be DDO, the elements seem to be very thick.

This is the reason I recommend using coppercoins.com that way you can match the coin to a DD, this coin is worn and sometimes there's die deterioration so it's best to compare images. Do a bit of foot work and then post with more information on the variety you think it is.

The early LCW's (Pre-1920) seem to show slightly thicker numbers and letters.

and when you get into circulated coinage, the letter and number devices appear to be much fatter than modern-day coinage

With all coins, the earlier the die state when the coin is made, the thicker the letters.
As a die wears, the field is polished (older dies, dies today are simply replaced). Each polishing lowers the field exposing less of the tapered lettering, which then appears thinner.

Then, as PALH1 stated, with circulation wear, things get worn making the tops of the tapered lettering vanish exposing the thicker base of the lettering.
