1. Post a front and back image of your coin with a specific question about what you’re seeing or asking about and one coin per topic.
2. Please remove coin from the holder unless it’s US or an official mint case or unless it is graded by a grading service.
3. Images should be taken by a camera or cell phone camera, we ask that members don’t use images through a microscope screen.
4. Always start your own topic, please don’t ask about your coin or post your coin in someone else’s coin topic.
5. Do not send private messages about your coin unless an Admin ask you too and the same for sending emails through the board.
6. No spam. Do not post any links to your coin or other non-coin websites.
7. Always be respectful even if something makes you upset or you don’t agree with a member. You can always get a second opinion elsewhere. If you have an issue then politely ask an admin in an PM. PM’s are for issues, technical and personal, but not for coin questions (refer to number 5 on this list). Re: 1971 D One Cent- FG Missing on Reverse
I am not aware of any '71 D LC missing D.I.
I know that there is a 1970 Denver Mint Mark missing the Designers Initials.
Have you tried viewing this coin while "spinning" it, with your light source from the side?

Thank you PALH1 for your reply, yes I've turned the coin every direction, there's no FG. Does the coin have to have a floating roof to be missing the FG, because mine doesn't seem to have a floating roof, yet there's no FG.

Keep in mind that these D.I.'s are very small... They may not look that way under high magnification, but they are.
Quite often it takes a very expensive 5+ megapixel USB scope to pick up on these "clogged dies" (plugged die). I paid $1000 for mine. I don't expect other people to spend this much, but I require this for this job.
:eureka:
Newer collectors (I'll say less than 20 years) need to realize that the extensive lists of "die variety listings" are lengthy because of the number of experts that have searched these coins. Usually if what you are seeing is not on a "certified list" , it is most likely that the anomaly is to "minor", or individuals are "misinterpreting the image" picked up by their USB scope.

I see a small raised area myself and based on that this coin wouldn't get the designation.
