Interesting Quarters

#1 Unread post by cmking74179 »

Hello all. I have two quarters I would like to show you. It isn't much but fun to look at. Both quarters have errors on them. Another quarter not shown here also has "errors" but was told by a numismatic that it was super glue. It doesn't come off no matter what I try. If interested I can find it and post that one too. Right now I have two quarters, one from 1997 and one from 2015. I both got these recently at the laundromat. :) I think the coining machine (government) had messed up these coins but it still could be something else. I'm willing to hear your opinion. Image

Heavily damaged coins and post mint, where you found them should be indicative of why they're in this condition. It is obvious mechanical damage but not from the mint.

Thank you all for your reply. Sorry so late in getting back with you. Yes, I wasn't sure. I still think it is a neat find! When I find my other quarter, which has weird raised circles in the metal of my other quarter I will show you that. No idea where it is atm but it is safe. :) Just a keeper for me. Coin shop said it could be super glue but I've already tried to off the super glue (because im keeping the quarter) so it is another interesting piece for me. Thank you again. :)
