Kennedy Half Dollar die cracks

#1 Unread post by Canonoch »

Hi all, while looking through my 50c pieces. I came across a 1995 "P" and two 1998 "P" half dollars the two '98's look like they have the same crack.
1998's "P"
1998's "P"
Crack comes down from neck between the 1 and 9

More interesting is 3 cracks on the '95.
1 in the hair, another along the check line, and one coming out from the neck.
'95 with 3 cracks

Crack along cheek line.

Small crack coming out from neck

What do you think everyday common? Or is this something more desirable to have for an error coin?

Howdy,

Die cracks are common with all types of coins and typically detract from a coins grade. They can draw interest when dramatic, but small ones are usually just a nuisance.

They might but as Mark stated they're really common and don't add value to a coin or much interest to collectors.
