I can see the image but which leg, because all 4 are visible in the image and none appear to be missing. What kind of coin is this?

Also, the rim above the buffalo's back looks odd. Is it damaged there?
(The back leg looks like it may have taken a hit that flattened it.)

You're welcome and glad you posted this although I'm not sure I'll be much help.
It's possible it was sheared off by the coin rolling machine. Sometimes you will see metal sheared off the coins on the end of the roll from the machine that crimps the roll.

Hmmmm .... where did it go? How bizarre!
(Where's the rest of the original thread with the image of the coin from the roll of modern buffalo nickels?)
