Welcome!
Please post photos of both coins and include front and back. Additionally, it is best if you put each coin in a separate thread so the conversation doesn't become confusing.

Re: Help please
On the 1989 penny's reverse, the FG is exhibiting "Die Trails".
On the 1989 penny's obverse, you are showing us mechanical doubling.
While interesting, neither add value.
The blackened nickel is not rare, but a type of planchet error that occurs prior to the coin being struck. Unfortunately, it could also be an artificially toned coin, or have spent some time in the ground. This one would like require inspection in hand to be able to determine the difference. But, even if a sintered (or improperly annealed) coin, it would again not add much value.

Re: Help please
Aren't die trails in relief (raised)?
The lines coming off the NE corners of FG appear to be incuse (recessed).
Same anomaly on the bottom right corner of the building.
Is this the same incuse issue affecting the date?

Re: Help please
Other than the nickel you're seeing issues with die wear that creates false doubling and anomalies. The nickel could be a black beauty and would be an improperly annealed planchet, but if it's circulated then it's not worth extra.

Re: Help please
Best to start a new thread with each coin to get responses.
There is a lot of damage on the reverse. Which letters are you asking about?

Re: Help please
This is all damage and die trails are raised and can be created by the tools used to buff the dies after removing clash marks. I saw a video on that somewhere.
