2001 D Vermont quarter (copper color-both sides

#1 Unread post by ChristineJones » Tue Jan 27, 2015 6:08 pm

Hi, I was going through my change & came across a 2001 D Vermont quarter that is copper color on both sides. I tried rubbing off & that was a no go, is this an error, has anyone seen this or know what it is?
Thank You,
Christine

What is the weight?
This is usually the result of staining from the environment around the coin (sitting in a cup holder with liquid, in the ground outside, etc.).
It doesn't appear to missing a clad layer, the color is off.
(ps. Congratulations on your first post if I am reading your join date properly)

This coin has been toned from the environment it was stored in.
