2. Please remove coin from the holder unless it’s US or an official mint case or unless it is graded by a grading service.
3. Images should be taken by a camera or cell phone camera, we ask that members don’t use images through a microscope screen.
4. Always start your own topic, please don’t ask about your coin or post your coin in someone else’s coin topic.
5. Do not send private messages about your coin unless an Admin ask you too and the same for sending emails through the board.
6. No spam. Do not post any links to your coin or other non-coin websites.
7. Always be respectful even if something makes you upset or you don’t agree with a member. You can always get a second opinion elsewhere. If you have an issue then politely ask an admin in an PM. help: 2015 silver eagle struck through?
Found two coins in a roll of 20 2015 silver eagle. Both had a thin line on the top of eagle.looks like a struck through error? Is it common? Do you think NGC will recognize it as mint error? Thank you for your help.

Could be a lamination, the discoloration around the area of the stars looks like there could have been some impurities that caused the lamination "crack". I am not sure but NGC might place minor error on it, or that might be ANACS.

Are the two images different coins? If so, the impression appears to be the same shape.
I believe they will if they determine it to be struck through. It might be a good idea to send them an email to ask. Plus I would look online to see how much of a premium that might add to the value and consider the expense of grading.
(I did a strike through, two areas, with ANACS for a high grade 1967 SMS dime. It was gorgeous with fantastic mint luster and proof like cameo but it only got a 66! :dunno )

hugeeyes
.... i thought the 'line' was INTO the coin,....but thought i should ask first .....
this is a good example of why some errors are NOT attributed using images alone.....
.... of course, as one develops their image taking abilities (yes, there is a "LEARNING CURVE"), attributions may be 'pre-verified'.......
but of course, they really need to be seen first hand to accurately 100% verify them.
......here, this hugeeyes 's like a "scratch",.... using just these 2 pics provided..... of course it might be something other, such as a 'struk through thread'
but in the end, for a on-line 'precursory exam' ....... i can't give my final opinion using these pics, sorry.
hugeeyes maybe some different pics? whistling2:

Thank you, the coins came in mint tube with green cap, from Apmex.
There are two coins have almost same "Scratch" as I showed here.

The closeup images are of one coin?
Not sure if it will help but can you post close up images of both with identifying markers for each? (You said "almost same")
Thanks.
