Hi Paul and thanks for reply. I will take some more pics in am and see if I can get in closer. Do you think these are whats considered die tails and if so do you see something else going on with this coin? Looks like you can see this anomaly on the top of the colloums on both sides of Lincoln and on the right hand post on the steps. Been out of touch lateley and am glad to be back. Thanks Again for the Expert Advice from All here and looking forward to some knowledgeable answers!!! Thanks Again ...

These are similar to die trails, could be caused by the same issues, some believe the hub die scraped the trails after the squeeze. However it is all theories. You have a keeper though, not in value but as a piece if interest.

Re: 1999 cent with die trails ?
Fat chance. It's obvious to me that something heavy scraped out the die cavity as it was removed from the working die. Only thing with that much weight and force would be the master die.

I agree there's striking issue in the form of main doubling, but these trails are not shelf like and appear to be consistant with something durine the die creation process.

Re: 1999 cent with die trails ?
Hi Everyone and good afternoon. Man I would think that if their were a hubbing issue with this die that it would make this coin rare and worth few bucks!! For it to make it all this way thru minting procress without being pulled is pretty neet! Thanks Guys!!!
