1954 Roosevelt Dime Error?

#1 Unread post by NKolev » Mon Oct 02, 2017 7:44 pm

Hello all, I am new to this forum and this is my first ever post! Glad to be apart of this awesome community. I was recently going through my Roosevelt dimes and noticed something different about my 1954 Roosevelt dime. The lips seem to be melted? DD? Not sure and need help!

Welcome!

First thought is a contact mark. (Not doubled.) Looking closely at the picture, it gets a bit blurry.

I agree. And it is interesting. The only other thing that comes to mind is struck through something.
Better images of the area would help. Thanks for posting.
