1955 Wheat Penny Struck Through Capped Die?

#1 Unread post by badger714 »

Hi Guys,
I need to ask about a 1955 Wheat penny I found tonight while listing coins on eBay for sale. I was cropping my pics and this penny has what looks to be the image(s) but not of the reverse of a wheat penny. It almost looks like an image of an Indian Head cent. I don't know anything else to tell you about it except look at the pics. I have given myself a head ache looking at it for to long! I need some help!

Obverse is rough looking. The reverse is totally normal.

Thanks for any help, Mike.

Can you post clearer images and of the reverse as well? I am not seeing enough details.

Also welcome to the forum and what do you sell under at ebay?

Hi Daniel Thanks for the welcome. My eBay ID is Complete Coinage. I'm new to the coin world and still learning. I'll try and blow some parts of the picture up. Bare with me!

Welcome.
Any chance it could be a residue (glue? fruit juice?) on the surface.
