#1 Unread post by jason.milner »

:greatfind: Hi my name is jason and i have a few interesting coins here . First i have a 2000 D sacajawea dollar that is flipover restruck in collar. But the interesting thing about it is the plastic coating or annealing on the reverse has melted into hard little puddles on the eaglse chest and upper wing .

I am not sure how you arrived at the conclusion that this is a flip-over restrike. I don't see any restrike or doubled strike on the coin. Also the mint never used plastic as part of their annealing process or minting process at all. More than likely this is going to be glue from were a coin business glued this coin into a display or something like that.

Do you have an image of the other side?

This coin has a foreign substance not used in the minting process. If not a glue, possibly an epoxy. This is not a mint error.
