Post mint damage from a counting wheel and the cent is normal; with the design being so close to the edge they often meet or overlap the rim a bit if there's die wear or it is slightly off-center.

It looks like the three "dents" on the side of Lincolns temple are an indication of an early die state or was that just how all 1964 cents were made with deep devices compared to other years. Worn and circulated but very sharp and crisp devises/details. Could the the master hub (?) :dunno for 1964 have details this deep as compared to other years?

Has nothing to do with die state, this coin is not an early die state and these indentions could be from the die having grease or they're contact marks of some sort, or just look deeper because they're darker toned than the their surrounding area.
