Need help with 1937 Indian head

Hello this is my first post here. I found this while checking thorugh some Buffulos.......I was wondering what you guys thought notice the bottom of the Y in LIBERTY pushed up and to the left. What do you guys think?

Damaged after it left the mint.

these are called "counter machine damage", A.K.A. "wheel-marks"....

Aren't there also similar "rotation" marks that can happen during the minting process?

Not like this, there have been some cents with what looks like symmetrical lathe marks visible but this is a gouge in the metal and not struck like this. I found one and have no idea what I did with it but here's an example http://www.errorvariety.com/Lathe-lines/

Ah yes, I can really see the difference now between wheel marks and lathe marks. It's really not that difficult to determine if damage was done to a coin during minting or post Mint, unless the damage occurred say, 100 years ago. I've found a few coins like this that are questionable, for me anyway, due to the fact that the damaged area has aged and toned identically along with the rest of the coin, unless of course someone drilled a hole in the coin to make a necklace, I hate finding those.
