2015 Lincoln cent major mint errror

I have this coin that I think has a major mint error can somebody tell me how this happens.

It was obviously cut. How? Hard to say. Your guess is as good as ours. It didn't leave the mint like this though. PMD

So this didn’t happen at the mint? How did they do it without chipping the coating. And, thank you for your help.

Coating is more resilient than you think - consider how many pennies get ran over without breaking it.

I agree this coin was pressed in a vice and against something that caused this.

Watch these short videos. You can see there is nothing in the minting process that could cause this damage.
