2. Please remove coin from the holder unless it’s US or an official mint case or unless it is graded by a grading service.
3. Images should be taken by a camera or cell phone camera, we ask that members don’t use images through a microscope screen.
4. Always start your own topic, please don’t ask about your coin or post your coin in someone else’s coin topic.
5. Do not send private messages about your coin unless an Admin ask you too and the same for sending emails through the board.
6. No spam. Do not post any links to your coin or other non-coin websites.
7. Always be respectful even if something makes you upset or you don’t agree with a member. You can always get a second opinion elsewhere. If you have an issue then politely ask an admin in an PM. PM’s are for issues, technical and personal, but not for coin questions (refer to number 5 on this list). Re: 1935 Washington Quarter DDO FS-25-1935-101
i see the class 2 on the 'E'....
the class 5 on the 'L'....
& easy to see double on the IGWT motto....
but i do hugeeyes a nice spread on the '35' of the date, weaker due to die state, but 100% there....
so, is the current listed info on the 101, really only a MD1.....??
WE SHALL SEE

Re: 1935 Washington Quarter DDO FS-25-1935-101
the 'L' is a C1 CCW
not looking at the 'upright', as they fracture out first on class 1's, look at the 'tip' of the 'L', FINDIND 2 SEPERATE "SWOOPS" OF THE END OF THE UPPER TIP....

the 'E' is a C2 center

Re: 1935 Washington Quarter DDO FS-25-1935-101
with no responses, i'm guessing:
a. everybody got angry at my "VF30" on the columbia half, see who is really paying attention post...or
b. sees what i do in the attribution images....?
anywhoo,
here is the response i got. now, giving the 'benefit of a doubt' here,...i have several thoughts.
keeping it to the simple & most logical. &, from my experience of submitting coins i have inspected myself, under a high power close-up microscope first, that were ONLY dirty/hazy, & came back "labeled" as 'corroded', or 'enviro'..............i think the biggest problem, or issue here, is that it is not possible to accurately "see" the 'true condition & details', using a 5x, or even a 10x loupe. sometimes even a good quality 20x triplet just is not enough....it should be,..if you are very experienced on 'how' to use it. it takes time to learn 'how' to use loupes...lighting, angles, views from different directions...so on. that is why i always suggest to 'spin' the coin as you view it....... & IS EXACTLY WHY I OWN A $1000 CLOSE-UP SCOPE. i also know how crazy busy these guys are, the time spent actually looking at this coin?,....& the huge volume of coins that get sent to them that are really just 'striking anomolies', & not 'real die varieties'.
for those of you that see the reference to 'metal flow'....nope, not even close...again, not enough power to the viewing aid. it might 'look like it at that power', but is not.

Re: 1935 Washington Quarter DDO FS-25-1935-101
i wanted to add the following info.
i have people send me "graded & 'variety labeled' attributed coins" every so often...
this one was from a fellow state rep for CONECA. when he looked at it, he thought i should see it, just to confirm what he saw.
here is a "graded & label attributed" 1858 large letter flying eagle cent that was 'graded' MS64 by what people call a "top grading company", with the variety designation of a rare DDO. i could tell you why/how, & for who they do this for, but you would not believe me anyway, as you have tought yourself that these 'companies' are the 'premier' leaders in the industry. but.....
this coin was nothing more than a double struk, with metal flow :s
he paid a HUGE amount of $$ for it too! screwed? yep. live & learn, the hard way!
NOTE: THE IMAGE "FILE NAMES" ARE WRONG. I JUMBLED UP THE ANNOTATIONS WHEN I COPIED THE SNAPS FROM THE SCOPE FILES TO HIS FILE, AS I WAS DOING SENERAL COINS AT THE SAME TIME.

I would believe you, seen too much in this business to be blind to these companies and their methods.
