1825/3 Quarter
Hi all. I just picked up this Quarter with a couple other items. It is an old ANACS soap bar holder with an AG3 grade. I almost fainted when I saw the range of prices for this coin in g-4 in our coin values and others. What do you think is a reasonable value? What does B-2 mean?Dan

Re: 1825/3 Quarter
Breen-2 is the B-2 and that designates the variety of course. Have you checked HA.com archived listings since that would be where I got my values. I am going to look into this further after supper.

Re: 1825/3 Quarter
Paul,I will post an image of the 5/3. It is very clear and not as worn as the rest of the coin. I will have to set up the scope to give you a good picture. Thanks for your reply, I trust the old ANACS graders. I saw an image when I googled the coin, but never bookmarked it.

Re: 1825/3 Quarter
I don't have an image of this variety but it does seem PCGS misattributes these as 25/2 according to the HA.com listings. The B-2 has a high "25" and away from the rim and the 8th star is well behind Liberty's cap. I need to research these and get some images up.
I estimate the value of your coin at $500, since it's not a problem coin but is AG3, I can't find enough examples in ANACS holders to be certain. It could go for $1,000 to the right buyer since the G4 have gone well above that mark. My value on this is generic.

Re: 1825/3 Quarter
Thanks again! I will try to determine if it is either by studying the coin. I think it is still kind of unique no matter what.
