1. Post a front and back image of your coin with a specific question about what you’re seeing or asking about and one coin per topic.
2. Please remove coin from the holder unless it’s US or an official mint case or unless it is graded by a grading service.
3. Images should be taken by a camera or cell phone camera, we ask that members don’t use images through a microscope screen.
4. Always start your own topic, please don’t ask about your coin or post your coin in someone else’s coin topic.
5. Do not send private messages about your coin unless an Admin ask you too and the same for sending emails through the board.
6. No spam. Do not post any links to your coin or other non-coin websites.
7. Always be respectful even if something makes you upset or you don’t agree with a member. You can always get a second opinion elsewhere. If you have an issue then politely ask an admin in an PM. PM’s are for issues, technical and personal, but not for coin questions (refer to number 5 on this list). Dominion Grading Service
Hey everyone. I personally don't focus on different grading service slabs so I thought I would pass this along to members of CH. A slab from Dominion Grading service with what appears to be the date of the grading on the label. The auction ends Sat. 1/4/2014 at 11:00 AM Hope this helps someone here.

Re: Dominion Grading Service
Never thought the area for a serial number could be the date!
Thought I would add the pictures.

Re: Dominion Grading Service
that's actually a perfect B.S. detector.
if you ask the seller, "when/where did you pick this coin up?".....
& a reply is "from an estate sale back in 1998"........ :s

Re: Dominion Grading Service
Is the Dominion Grading Service long gone like I suspect and if so, are they scarce and is there much interest their holders (even though this is one ugly/harshly cleaned coin)? THANKS.

Re: Dominion Grading Service
Dave Lawrence bought PCI and started calling the service Dominion Grading Service. I have no idea if he already had the service before purchasing PCI, but this holder is the same style as PCI. I doubt the validity of the sellers claims since 1998 is to far back, it could be 2008, or I am mistaken.
Dave Lawrence is a big dealer but I don't know if they still grade under this name, and PCI is back in business, so don't know if he still owns PCI. If anyone sees an error in what I stated feel free to correct, please.

Re: Dominion Grading Service
I do not think it can be from 1998. It sounds like baloney to me. Who would grade a coin so wrecked??? This is not a 1798 Bust dollar.
Re: Dominion Grading Service
Just picked up two DGS slabs
1853-O 25c Arrows and rays F-15
And I just noticed that the 1854-O with Arrows is listed as a 50c peice but it relly is just a quarter, in F15
And the serial numbers are very close but do not match to a date
54-O 011712004
53-O 011712003
I bought the pair since the serial number are together, I was only going to get one but I like the serial numbers.
Sorry for the pictures they are scans.

Re: Dominion Grading Service
It has to scare you when they do not even get the coin denomination correct! The coins however look problem free ( not cleaned or altered) or way over graded. Did they come from EBAY? Can you post clearer pix?
Re: Dominion Grading Service
I bought them at the Van Nuys, Ca coin show sunday 2-23-14.
I'll work on the pictures, the camara does do a nicer job.
Both are F-15 and do look right for the grade but could always be just fine (12 not 15).
Got them at a good price also. The dealers like to get rid of the old TPG slabs, some would just as well break them out to sell them easier.
