ACG Different Small Slab Types

#1 Unread post by rjp »

Thought I would show these off and see if you knew there were so many different types and labels.
I have 14 different slabs here are the first 5. and with the letter on the slab so you can comment about the type slab and ID the picture.
Again I don't know how to put the pictures side by side.
Thanks

Label is black and white
And I just noticed the the label is (if I must) facing Backwards.
As I stack these slabs this one will not lock in with the others,
But if I turn it around they all stack and lock in together.

Thanks Bob.
I think I picked up on four different offices in these labels.
How accurate do you feel the grade comes to current standards?
I ask because sometimes grading services are used for marketing coins only to get a higher price as opposed to being honest with a grade from a collectors view point.

Accugrade tried to do it with their own point system and grading standard. I actually own a copy of Alan Hagar's Standards. So hard to know how accurate but I would say he would be as close as any TPGS. The guy knew grading but I think tried to be too different from what PCGS, ANA and NGC were doing at the time.

Thanks Daniel. I find it interesting to see how the grading and companies have changed while being pulled in multiple directions. (A Business trying to make a profit vs. giving the industry/customer what they say they want at a price that works for both.)

I have to put them over there because I need conder101 to comment on them,
since he wrote the book and keeps track of these Out Of Business (OOB) slabs.
I always hope he would check in here and then I don't need the other forums.
I have been trying to find everyone on your list here and I like it when the new ones are added because of what I give you.
I do have about 15+ to get on your list here. In time I will get them posted here.

I thought Condor101 passed away?

I just wish more here would get involved in commenting on all of these. These are interesting enough and I am sure others have something to share.
