PCGS is actually an amazing story and although I know it's not perfect and has issues with consistency, still yet, they did create the rare coin market we know today. I am doing webmaster work for Joel D. Rettew - joelrettew.com and Dave Hall worked for him for 2 to 3 years and calls Joel one of his mentors.

I flew out to CA the first of November and it was an eye opener. I am going back out and this time I will visit PCGS and take some coins. Orange county and the surrounding area is basically the hub of the rare coin market.

Here's another article on Dave Hall that is also an interesting read. http://www.coinworld.com/news/us-coins/ ... m.all.html
