1) acid test on stone, rubbing edge, yes. I wiped off after about 8 seconds. I deal in many antiques and test all "potential" gold, silver and platinum.
2) Yes, same procedure for all gold and silver.

& a magnet has no attraction to these coins...?

Most metals aren't magnetic with the exception of iron, nickel, cobalt, gadolinium, neodymium and samarium.
(Funny, I work with all of these.)

Anyway, posting pictures is fairly easy.

Here's a test to tell all without subjecting a coin to acid:
Coin Specific Gravity
Specific gravity determines how much water is displaced by the mass of the coin. Only an authentic Morgan Silver dollar will have a specific gravity of 10.340.

m, remember SG is a 'volume' measurement, as 'displacement'.....
:eureka:
so, if i calculate only by the "numbers".....using nickel @ 8800 Kg/m3, & silver @ 10,049 Kg/m3.....then a 'nickel coin' of this size would be:
22.42364g

That's true if it is the exact size of a Morgan. If the counterfeiter mixed lead and tin to get the weight right, then the volume would only need to be slightly off, the weight would be right, it would not be magnetic, but the specific gravity would still be wrong.
