I don't think they're non-profit. The .org is an organization and has nothing to do with their status of earning or not, I own coinauctionshelp.org just so no one else can buy it and compete with it.

i do remember that back when....
before all the 'loop-holes' were found - used - exploited....
".org" was intended to designate entities that operated as 'not-for-profit' status
i think i remember also, that you were required to incorporate as a "non-profit", to qualify for .org
