1923-P VAM-1D Whisker Cheek LDS
Just bought this coin for next to nothing yes it has been cleaned but its such a nice Vam
1D II1 - B2a (Whisker Cheek) I-3 R-6
Obverse II1 - Normal die with die beak on cheek.
Reverse B2a - Normal die
The VAM-1D gets its name by the readily apparent die break on Liberty's cheek that begins to the right of Liberty's nose and runs down towards the back of her jaw. As with other coins with die breaks, the larger the break and later the die state, the more desirable the coin is.

:greatfind:
these are fantastic finds in mlds....where the details are still nice on the die, & the 'crack' is whopper.
fortunately some novice did not try to shave down, grind off, polish/scrub on.......the crack detail. which i see all the time!....as they just don't know any better.
& since most think this is 'coin damage', you snapp them up cheap!
 :trophy:

I found one and it graded MS64 by PCGS, at least they labeled that one correctly. Nice pick up.

That's an awesome die crack! It makes Liberty look like some kinda cool biker chick with a gnarly scar.
