Notes with Multiple of the same Number

#1 Unread post by 2centsal » Thu Sep 06, 2012 1:40 am

Hi Everyone. I'm not sure exactly what they call this but I have a 2006 $20 Bill with the Serial # of JD44496444A . Are these worth much over Face Value. I have seen Notes with 7 of the same Number with a LONE NUMBER at the end and I have seen Notes with 6 of the same Number with 2 random numbers at the end but how rare is the one I have and how much would it sell for APPROXIMATELY ? I would Grade it in the VF range.
I did see a $1 Note with six 7's and a 25 at the end selling for $16.95 so I figured i'd post mine to ask someone that knows more about this type of Collecting. I guess if mine had a 69 in the middle, it would get more attention from the " PERV's " out there, but it is a 6 and 9 after all, just Reverse. LOL
I can post a Pic later, I just got it and haven't had the time to take Pics yet.

Also, does anyone know of any Websites that devote themselves to this kind of Collecting ?

Thanks,
Salvatore

The strange thing is the Note is in excellent condition . Very crisp , no folds, no tears . The only thing is there is something stamped to the left of the Note. It doesn't look like a rubber stamp. Looks more like the ink in the Note. I'll try to post a picture later.

Modern US currency's value is based on condition, what bank they where printed and the treasurer's names on the not, of course there's people who collect certain serial numbers and consecutive serial numbers. I had 100 silver certificates and all serial numbers where consecutive and they did sell for more than usual, but not a large premium.
