Star Notes

#1 Unread post by footfish » Thu Oct 20, 2011 3:00 pm

Hi, I was wondering if newer Star Notes are valuable? Im talking about star notes from 1999 to now. I know older ones are valuable and i know depending on how many were in each run they could be valuable. I've read articles on newer star notes and people have been saying that they are valuable and others saying they are not. I'm just wondering if I should keep looking for them?

I have foudn a few "newer" Star Notes, but they're not worth that much. Of course, the high the denomination the more you can get out of them, but they must be new and crisp. We will see more star replacement notes, from 1999-present, when more begin to get destroyed.

I would always look and keep them since they're still more rare than the whole of each series.

I don't have any of the low numbers but I save the star notes when I find them. Here is a couple. I haven't been able to find a fifty though. I really wouldn't know about the value of them. I just like to collect them.

Star Notes are worth $5 and up and they can be worth more depending on the issuing banks production of the Star Note. The real value starts with the 1935 series and that depends on condition, of course, but mostly the signatures. They're all keepers so they need to be kept in the best condition and protected. Sorry if you guys already know this, but this is for the lurkers who might not know.
