1899 $1 Black Eagle Silver Certificate

I'm not a currency collector, but when I saw this, it was instant amazement for me. These bills are extremely common and fairly cheap in lower grades. While dated 1899, they were made well into the 1900s and are ranked and grouped by the Register and Treasurer signature combination and the end symbols on the serial numbers. In this case, I have a Teehee-Burke signature combination making it a FR-233. The serial number is high and the end letters are also late in the series. The bill is about 1.5 times larger than a modern dollar bill. Grade... well that's a new area for me, but based on what I've seen this is Good - Very Good, no pinholes.

First note I've photographed! You can blow it up twice making it able to read all that fine print the government is so found of putting on things.

Now I'm looking for the 1896 Educational series which have some phenomenal artwork on them.

Congrats Mark. :h Sounds like you have decided to bite into another realm of numismatics!
I'm like you when it comes to currency. Very little experience but inquisitive about some of the art and themes.
