Need help about Brown spots on the Paper

#1 Unread post by 2centsal »

There's something I've noticed while looking at my Currency Collection some time ago . On one Note I realized it had a little bit of a smudge at the top ( front side, top right ). It's a 1977A $1 Error Note ( 100 % front on back Offset Transfer ). I realized it had a smudge my father made on the Note when he gave it to me . He used to work in a Machine shop and must of forgotten to wash the grease off his hands that day. It's in Uncirculated Condition I believe . He got it from the Bank and all his Money was Nice and Crisp .
My question is how much does that impact the grade ? Does it now become a Low BU grade or down to AU grade ?
Here's the Pics

I wish I could help but if it's UNC then it should still be UNC, maybe UNC 60 due to the smudge?
