Please help me appraise 1946 error dime
I found this 1946 dime. it had no mint mark, and a etched ring in the middle torch.

The 'O' was punched into the coin after it left the mint. This is not an error.

It almost looks like something "rotary" created this but still it's PMD as already stated.

Welcome Tufferz75 but I have to agree with the others here. The difference would be speculating on what caused the damage.
Post mint damage but judging from the size (+-1/4") and it looks to be out of round so I'm thinking 3/16" or 1/4" tubing/pipe that would get distorted as it was hammered into the coin.
