1958-D Lincoln cents

#1 Unread post by ORGINALZMAN »

Hello,
Found 3 rolls of what appears to be uncirculated 195p-D Lincoln cents in plastic rolls. I pretty sure they didn't use plastic to roll coins in 1959.Do I have some coins of value or not.trying to find out before I have them looked at,Thanks,James

Since these are in plastic rolls, you can assume that they have been looked at before by someone separating them by date and mint.

Unless graded by a TPG, with a grade of MS-67 RD, or above, they will only be worth a few cents each. Most will never get this grade, so you'd be wasting a lot of money to get them graded.

On the other hand, the 1959-D has become a news item of late with the possibility of a new error out there. If you find one with "Wheat Ears" on the reverse, set it aside.

It could be that the paper roll fell apart or some collector just wanted them in the protection of a tube, so do look for varieties. If you find one with that you think is a good one then feel free to post a clear image of the front and back of the coin.
