Want to sell this 1916-D Mercury dime. Advice?

Is this one I should send off for authentication because of its rarity even though it's not in the greatest condition? I read the 1916-D Mercury dime page, but that was really speaking to buyers. I'm the seller who has no business selling this coin without knowing the facts. What else do I need to know? Thanks!

Always a good idea to have the authenticated and certified, it looks authentic, but they tend to sell for a little more when in a reputable grading company holder as well.

The 1916D Merc is the most-faked coin in the world at present. It's on most people's "never buy raw" list. Better to pay a little to have it certified to get more bidders and a better chance at a good price.

Wonderful, thanks guys! Any drama-free and fairly inexpensive routes I should take? I have a short list of coins I could send in at the same time.

ANACS is the cheapest of the top 3. If all you need is certification without a premium for the slab, that'd be what I'd do. Others might have other ideas.
widegrin

ANACS is the way to go, no club to join, no hoops, check out their website.
